The most important choice you’d ever have to make

The most important choice you’d ever have to make

The past doesn’t exist. It’s gone. Done. Expired.

The future doesn’t exist.

You don’t exist in the past. Or the future.

You only exist in this moment. And this moment. And now this moment. And now this moment. And now this moment…

You only exist in a single moment. That’s it. Here and now. Moving from a moment to a moment, from a now to a now. And now. And now. Another now…

And you can only make choices here and now, in this moment, because nothing else is here, no future and no past, just you in the here and now.

And the most important choice you ever need to make, for the rest of your life, is the one you make about how you want to think or feel or be in this single micro-moment NOW.

You can choose to fear, or to trust. You can’t do both.

You can choose to worry or to love. You can’t do both.

You can choose to feel guilt or blame, or to feel acceptance. You can’t do both.

You have a choice of removing yourself from this moment by anticipating or reminiscing. Or stay in the moment by drawing your attention to a sensation of being present.

If reminiscing or anticipating brings you joy, you are enriching the moment.

If it gives you grief, you are stripping it of life.

And you can FEEL what it is that you are doing in the moment. Your body will tell you if you care to listen to the sensations.

If you are stripping this moment of its vitality, your body will feel constricted, tired and tense.

If you are enriching it, it will feel open, light and glowing.

So simply observe your body. If there is any restriction, any distress, any tension— make a different choice now. No need to look back, you can’t undo the past. You can only choose in the now.
